We just returned from a 5-night stay at Sunset Lodge and it was one of the most special places we've ever stayed. The hosts, Josue and his family, were fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The view from our balcony was amazing, with hours spent in our hammocks watching the colorful wildlife.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this tico, family-run hotel. The view from our room was absolutely incredible and worth the climb up from the road. The room itself was cozy and spacious, with an outdoor shower that had a private and stunning view of the ocean. The food at the nearby Restaurante Casa el Tortugo was like a gourmet meal and reasonably priced. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast selection better would be to have some cold options, especially during the hottest season. I like to have a cold shower to cool off when it's very hot, and having the option of cold water in the shower would have been nice.

Our stay at the Sunset Lodge was worth every penny. The room was cozy with a stunning ocean view and a private outdoor shower. The location was perfect, just a minute's walk to the beach and a short walk to town. The staff treated us like family, especially Teresa who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast could be improved with more variety.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the rainforest and ocean. The cabin had all the necessary amenities, including a hot shower, comfortable bed, fridge, and coffee machine. The owner was extremely kind and helpful, organizing tours and transportation for us. The highlight was sitting on the covered balcony, watching the tropical birds and even being greeted by scarlet macaws right outside our cabin. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
Didn't dislike anything about the property.

We had an amazing stay at a lodge in Drake Bay with stunning views and exceptional service. The cabin we stayed in had a balcony that offered breathtaking views of the surroundings. We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and the birds. The lodge also had a fantastic restaurant that served delicious food at affordable prices. The value for money was unbeatable. Our host, Raquel, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She helped us book a unique tour that turned out to be an extraordinary experience. Despite a few minor inconveniences, like the climb to the lodge and some bugs in the open-air bathroom, the overall experience was fantastic. We highly recommend this lodge for an unforgettable stay in Costa Rica.

My stay at Sunset Lodge was absolutely amazing. The wooden cabins were so gorgeous and cozy, providing a unique and charming experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming family who run the lodge. They were always ready to assist with any questions or arrangements, making me feel right at home. The breakfast provided was truly outstanding, and my lodge was spotlessly clean. Additionally, the lodge's restaurant, Casa el Tortugo, offered some of the best cuisine in Drake Bay. I highly recommend Sunset Lodge for its beautiful cabins, friendly service, and delicious food.

We got great value for our money at Sunset Lodge, with beautiful and private cabins, stunning views, and a cozy and comfortable room. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach and a fantastic restaurant nearby. But what really stood out was the staff, who were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement.

We had a fabulous experience staying in this rustic lodge in a remote location. The wooden cabins had tidy rooms with unique decorations, like hand-crafted driftwood pieces. The open-air bathrooms were clean and the cabins had mini fridges and fans. The view from the decks was breathtaking, offering a beautiful view of the bay and surrounding greenery.
The lodge had issues with noise from music and karaoke until 2 am, which was disruptive for guests who needed to wake up early for activities.

I had a wonderful stay at a charming lodge in Drake Bay. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the friendly owner who gave me a helpful introduction to the area. The bungalow I stayed in had a breathtaking view of the coast and was beautifully designed with lovely wooden details. The comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep, and the fresh and delicious breakfast, included in the price, was a great way to start each day. The restaurant owned by the family served amazing food, especially the Red Snapper for two. The value for money was excellent, and the private pool and stunning views were definite highlights. The host, Josue, went above and beyond to help me book tours and make the most of my stay. The sight of humpback whales and dolphins on a private whale watching tour arranged by the lodge was truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Drake Bay for nature lovers and those looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
